Welcome to the airport!
Airports can be confusing, especially when you are travelling to another country for the first time.
Let's learn some useful vocabulary to help you feel more confident!
🛫 Airport Vocabulary
Airport → a place where planes arrive and leave.
Departure → when a plane leaves.
Arrival → when a plane reaches a place.
Check-in → the process of registering for your flight.
Security check → the place where passengers and their bags are checked.
Gate → the place where you wait to get on your plane.
Flight → a journey by plane.
Passenger → a person travelling on a plane.
Seat → the place where you sit on the plane.
Destination → the place you are travelling to.

Here are some expressions you can use at the airport:
Where is Gate 15?
Where is the check-in desk?
What time is the flight?
Is the flight on time?
Where can I collect my luggage?

🎭 Role-play: At the Airport
Work with a partner.
One student is a passenger and the other is an airport worker.
Use these expressions:
Passenger: Excuse me. Where is Gate 12?
Airport worker: It's over there.
Passenger: Thank you!
Now create your own short dialogue.
